MY NIGERIA @ 59

                 

Arise oh compatriots,
Nigeria call and we'll obey,
But what has our Nigeria turned into today,
What picture of herself has she painted in our brains.

She no longer has her peace of mind,
Because her compatriots are made of selfish kind.

Her beauty has gradually fade away,
Because her compatriots forgot her build up kits but are ready to slay.

Her elected leaders are blind to see her falling,
But are ready to tell us they saw her crawling,

Her youth claim to be outspoken and bold,
But in the sight of corruption and bribery they all have their hands fold.

Her teengers were excited to pick the form "jamb",
But has been misled by the motion "Las Las school na scam".

Her currency is like a diamond for the poor,
Difficult to mine but greedy ones at the top gets it all.

Today marks her Independence,
With the hope of change from her superintendence,
And her youth to abstain from the path that are gory,
But to defend her unity and uphold her honor and glory.

So help us God.
